2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

We live in a world where the promotion of self and self importance above all else pretends to rule.

Churches across America promote self by playing hymns that make one feel good about self as though we can gain favor with God by attending a service, and they are not leading to truth about anything of God.

God’s definition of a relationship with Jesus is nothing like any earthly relationship how God defines a real relationship. Yet from most every pulpit we hear platitudes making man being equal to God. In doing so, in all instances God is reduced to nothing more than a idol sitting on a shelf, rather than the Creator of all things in the world including the world.

Let’s bring back the hymns of faith, and throw out the Dogmatics books. Let’s seek the true translations of God’s Word, Jesus! Let’s promote real relationships with Jesus; go to His Word and read and listen to what is said there. “The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us..” John 1:14

Looking in 2 Timothy Chapter 3 verse 16:

  1. “All Scripture” not just the pieces we choose, or the parts we buy into. But ALL (every) Scripture (word); “is given by inspiration of God”.
  2. ALL Scripture (Every Word) “is profitable for Doctrine”…(for teaching) not only this that all scripture is a laying down of the principles or truths of Jesus Christ, but the WORD, our Bibles, are the very being of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ ( read John chapter 1)
    1. So that when the devil comes up with a new translation that is supposed to be easier to read but cuts out God’s name hundreds of times and changes the meaning it literally is jabbing our Lord and Savior in the eye or breaking His arm or piercing His side inflicting pain on our Savior!!
  3. All Scripture (Every Word) is given “for reproof”.. the exposing, convicting and proving of who we are and what our being is about. God in His Word shows us these precepts through His laying out of past relationships and contact of His and His disciples with others, both with believers and unbelievers, in very explicit terms. This exposure of the heart and the human existence, many would call this the “fire and brimstone” when it comes from the pulpit, God says it is needful that we understand who we are where we come from and what we need.
  4. All Scripture (Every Word) is “for correction”.. as one goes through life there is a restorative process that goes on with keeping our flesh in check with that realization of who we are but also a mirror and a reflection is shown us.
  5. All Scripture (Every Word) is “for Instruction”. “in Righteousness”.. God outlines for us what faith looks like and the attributes of Faith. We are free from rules. But the deeper you delve into His word the more clear the picture of what a walk with him looks like. Except you have faith as a little child you cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven.
  6. Faith is not something that you act out or a series of steps that you must do each day or once a week or once a year. As a little child just believes his or her daddy so a believer believes His or her Heavenly father. If when your heavenly father says something and you question it or dislike it and choose not to believe it or think it is to old fashioned when God says I am the same Yesterday, today and forever that is something you have to deal with at judgment.
  7. God gives us clear examples of what Faith is in Joshua 24:15 “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

The Freedom and joy of a little child goes along with that childlike Faith. The cares of this world evaporate. “All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)  Again, emphasis on ALL.

Take a step back from your life and spend a little time each day with God’s Word (Jesus) and listen to His Word.
