Reveling in God’s Great Gift Wary of the Sly Deceit of Evil

7 Jan

We have just celebrated another season of Christmas. For us the celebration of Our Saviors birth and Sacrifice happens 24/7, 365 for there is Nothing under heaven worth anything close to the fulfillment of this promise of our God. Acts 4:12 “for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

As in any happening here on earth, evil would cast a shadow over the bright shining of the good news (gospel) of our Lord.  In our information age, with technical advantage, the purposes of evil have tools that far surpass the historical deference to the truth. Evil only proliferates more with technology.

It was before technology that evil came up with the religion of evolution, and clear back since the beginning of the fall into sin, the heart of mankind has been antagonistic toward the truth, not just any truth but all truth.

The devil in the Garden of Eden revealed his mode of deceit in the words “Yeah hath God said”, casting doubt in the innocent mind of Eve in the garden, and today evil continues to cast aspersions on the graces of God.

The Devil, Lucifer, was kicked out of heaven (Isaiah 14:12) and never given an offer of restoration to his former place alongside of God. But with regard to man, God immediately extended an olive branch of Redemption in the promise of His Son who would come to earth in the form of a child.

We see further degradation of God’s word by Lucifer in the twisting of the good news of Bethlehem. God in Luke 2:14 states that the angle announced to the world, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” The meaning is clear that the act of God in the Birth of His Son is a healing of the bond broken by the fall into sin in Eden, the fulfilling of the promise given immediately before any other action.

The subtlety of this world would change the words to imply a reconciling between men in the changing of the words “goodwill toward men” to “goodwill among men”, as if somehow God’s sacrifice was healing between men on earth, when in fact in coming to earth, healing was brought from God and laid at the feet of the world and all men everywhere were reconciled for the falling away in Eden. Faith in this same gift of salvation makes it a fact.

So may each day of your future be one of reveling in the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ!
