As in the days of Noah

7 Jan

Luke 17: 26-30 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. [27] They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. [28] Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; [29] But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. [30] Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

The apathy indicated here in Luke is very much parallel to that of today and today is like no time ever in the history of the world. We are more spoiled as a people with almost nothing in our lives to remind us of our goal which is the next phase of our life, ETERNITY.

Praise God for His promise of salvation through the death of Jesus Christ.

Over this holiday season of Christmas and New Year, for the first time in a long time I did nothing but reading and watching old movies. Besides the good book, there was the series of Daniel Boone that played and was popular in the late 60’s.

In watching this series it was like going down memory lane, the reminders of a time when technology and entertainment was still morally centered and inclusive to God. But also a more truthful representation of a time when our country was birthing and decency and hard work was the driving force in a greater majority of people, and the reality that political correctness often could cost your life.

So what happened to bring us to this point?

We came from a time when the King James Version was read on prime time TV to a time when God’s name is blasphemed on almost every show.

We have come from being proud of the roots of our country’s Christian heritage and the fight for freedom, to the promotion of depravity like at no other time in history.

Instead of being grateful for the gifts and things we have, to a world of lusting after pleasure with the promotion of greed.

Our children are not taught how to live and survive but are taught to be slaves to their own lusts and to a system that offers at every turn an opportunity to fall into the slavery of greed.

Even our churches have become places of entertainment, rather than places of getting to know our Savior more deeply. And the promotion new versions of the bible under the guise of making for better clarity when upon examination you see the name for God being Altered 160+ times.

But as much as evil men and the devil would hope to cloud the way and seek to enslave people and prevent eternal glory, God rises to the occasion to give witness to His Truth.

Books like “The Case for Christmas, by Lee Strobel” who lays out absolute power of God’s Word which shows the infallible proof of Jesus Christ and the fulfillment of over 300 prophesies.

We see the discoveries made in real life that debunk the devil’s promotion of evolution. God continues to work, strengthening His flock and letting the godless run till they get to the point hopefully of discovery of eternal truth and salvation.

So even as in the days of Noah when the millions of this world turned their backs on eternal truth and perished, leaving only eight souls, so today we pray for your determination, if needs be, to stay the course to eternity even though friends, family and loved ones get swallowed up in this world.

Eternity is real; God’s love for you has never wavered or changed. Be not unbelieving but believing.

All that Matters is the Eternal – atmite

Cycle of Life = Conception>Birth>Life on earth>Eternity
