It’s an all about Me world!

26 Apr

The greatest change in our life time is that we have become a people of, it is all about me. Technology has promulgated it and our greatest generation has promoted it. The economic thought of passing on a better world to our young is something that has been promoted this last century. So in less than 100 years on a grand scale this promotion has left the earth feeling like a competition instead of a journey to real life. Not that greed and competition has not existed, it just has taken over.

This “all about me” attitude is something that has been easy to promote, it fits right into our nature. The Devil in Eden recognized it and held out the caveat in Gen 3:5 “God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”

This single piece of scripture tells volumes as to who we are as mankind. The whole of scripture shows the rebellion by man toward God as a self made map of proclamation by man of his liberty to choose. And just as in the days of Eden the promotion of self has been so readily accepted by man that it feels right somehow. Even the churches promote the serving of god in your own way and choosing your own path.

But that has nothing to do with reality, God’s reality! God’s Reality is that if you serve Him by faith in Him, nothing else, you will have a steady easy life that will have some conflict sure but the intensity of the conflict increases the further you stray from God’s path. Even as the devil in Eden held out the greener grass on the other side of the fence as being desirable, today we are fooled into believing that life can be better if we create our own little kingdoms.

Technology has become an out of control apparatus for teasing evil, that is choking our society into a vastly gross albatross of pleasure seeking and promotion of greed for things, that is overriding our sensibilities to where we are losing site of the important things simply cause they do not give the immediate gratification as spending and playing hard.

This distraction into thinking that we are somehow by making a small difference here and there every once in a while we will somehow be rewarded with eternal bliss. In Matt 7:22 God says, “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works?
[23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

So there we have it, when we are fooled into being an answer to our self and following what we establish for ourselves as our own truth, we are being tricked out of eternal life given by God to all men by His Son Jesus the perfect sacrifice. Be not deceived but believe. You are saved!
